Hi!
The only other option I can think of is Bitcoin. But maybe that’s not legal in your country?
Does it work for Indian stocks , both NSE & BSE ? Does it work on iPad / Mac ? Do you have a .pages version of this ?
Hi Sandy. No only works for Us listed stocks. Does not work on a Mac. No I don’t have .pages versions
Hi Jan, I bought the Warren Buffet Spreadsheet over a year ago. Can you send me the latest/most updated version as I believe there’s been a few updates since I last purchased it.
Hi Simon. Yes I will do that tomorrow morning as it’s evening for me here now. Could you maybe send me an email? Then I won’t forget 🙂
I believe mine says v.4 has there been an update since I purchased mine and may I please have the update? It looks like I purchased it around Nov 20th 2020. I’ll reply to your original email
Yes just send me an email with a copy of your receipt and I will send you the latest version as soon as I am back from work
I have now sent the latest versions to your email.
Hi Jan,
With the Automated Version of the spreadsheet, there is a currency converter for Non-U.S. stocks.
How do I input the code of a Non-U.S. Stock so that the spreadsheet is able to find the data?
(For example: Stock code CBA in the Australian Stock Market ASX)
Hi Simon.
The spreadsheet works for some Non- US exchanges and not for some others. I have a friend now that is trying to develop a sheet that will work for the major countries, australia included. But I can’t promise anything. You could also try with another ticker for the same company if it’s also listed on the US-exchanges. That usually works.
Thanks for getting back to me Jan,
I look forward to seeing how the development goes with the automated google sheet.
In the meantime, do you have an example of a Non-US ticker code that works with the current spreadsheet? (That way I can play around and see which codes work and which don’t)
I know that it works for indian stocks and indonesian stocks. They use unique ISIN as tickers. Can remember tickers now. You can find them on Morningstar. Should also work for other countries as it is now, but I have not tested it out on all the countries/exchanges
Hey, I was just wondering how the sheets are sent to me, do I have to give you my email or do you have it already?
I already have it. When you pay with Paypal you have an email registered with your Paypal account, so I will get your email with a confirmation of your purchase to my inbox. I will then manually send you the spreadsheets within 24 hours 🙂
Hhi,
I am looking for tickers from US, Canada and India. does your spreadsheet include (google one) all of them or only USA?
Best Regards
US and India, but not Canada
Hi there, I’m looking to buy the automatic spreadsheet. I’m in the UK – when I go through to Paypal it says $50 but in pounds it is showing price to pay £82!! I have clicked through to see if it was maybe an error but it continuously shows the £82. Even though by exchange rate it should only be circa £37.
Also I would just like the automatic spreadsheet and not the excel – is there a better price for that?
That was strange. Can you manually change the price? You could also send it directly to me with you manually paying in the currency you like I believe.
Sorry there is no option for only getting the automatic spreadsheet at discount. The automatic is kind of much better than the Excel as it populates the data in a few seconds vs the manual excel spreadsheet.
You can send me a mail (contact link on frontpage) and find a solution
Hi there,
I can no longer access the Full Key ratios data on the Morningstar website. Therefore, the Excel spreadsheet cannot work. Please help.
Thank you,
Yea I just saw it now 🙁
Unfortunately this could happen. They had this site up for 10 years at least. It will make the Excel sheet version of the spreadsheet difficult to use. I will probably only sell the automated sheet from now on. Unless someone know where I can find the “Full key ratios” page in another way?
If you google it, you can still find the key ratios link for a company.
However to actually navigate to the key ratios on the website seems impossible.
Any advice?
At least I believe I found a temporary solution: Go to Morningstar Canada instead of USA. Morningstar.ca
https://www.morningstar.ca/ca/report/stocks/performance.aspx?t=0P000005FE&lang=en-CA
They seem to have all the stocks as the US version of Morningstar has. As I can see.
Is there an option to see what numbers your putting on the excel sheet for the evaluations? Would I be able to manually tweak the numbers (Like pick my own FCF etc) .?
Yes, you can see all the formulas and you can modify whatever you want
Hi I’m looking for tickers from Australia (ASX) . Is it available in your automated google sheets tool.
Hi Vinay.
Yes.
Do you need to subscribe to Morning Star also?
Hi Martin.
No you don’t
H, Is it available in your automated google sheets tool to look for tickers in country like Indonesia, HK and Australia?
Indonesia and australia works. Not sure about HK, can check it out
Hello,
I encounter a problem with the automated spreadsheet. It’s not getting some data from Morningstar. I am wondering am I the only one facing that problem? or its some technical issue for time being?
Hi.
It’s a problem everyone experiencing now. The spreadsheet has problem to import the valuation data p/b, p/s, p/e etc..
I have contacted my programmer to see if he can find a solution to the issue.
If you have subscribed to the updates (via link in e-mail) I will notify you and send you a new link if/when a updates version is ready
Hi Jan – do you think you could send me an email if you’re able to get it fixed to tr952002@gmail.com? Thank you very much for your help and awesome work!
Good afternoon Jan
Hope you are well. is there any update on the spreadsheets ability to pull data?
Thanks in advance
Eric
Hi Eric
The spreadsheet has temporary problems with importing the data from Morningstar. Previously when this has happened, the dataimport has begun working again by itself after a few hours/days.
Unfortunately I can’t do anything with this, since I rely on web scraping of Morningstar data. I guess it depends on how much changes Morningstar are doing to their pages/code.
Hopefully it will start working again soon.
Apologize for this
Hi Jan, it seems that Morningstar has blocked your page, I hope you can have a solution soon, thank you.

Hello Jan! One possible solution to the Morningstar web scraping issues – I’ve found that stockanalysis.com is a really great alternative site. They provide 10 years of financial statements for companies.
This video shows how you can web scrape the site using Python. Obviously, the spreadsheet doesn’t use Python, it uses formulas in Google Sheets to auto update. But I think this is a cool proof-of-concept that stockanalysis.com could be a replacement for Morningstar (while potentially yielding better data).
Thanks Thomas. I will check this out. Do you know anyone good with programming that could help me with the issue?
Hi
Try this one:

Hi!
Are there any positive news about the Morningstar data fetching problem being resolved? 🙂
Hi Ben sorry. No I will notify everyone if I can find a solution.
Can your spreadsheet be modified by the user? Why I ask is that there is a problem with the data scraping.
I currently have a subscription to QuickFS that allows me to use their Excel plugin which links an extensive list of data points into my “1-pager” financial analysis spreadsheet. My interest in your product is in the valuation aspects.
PS QuickFS have a free version that will allow data scraping of stocks from USA, AUS, CA and LON.
Hi James. Yes the spreadsheet is fully customizable. Thanks for the suggestion.
Just made the payment for the excel version.
Hi. Yes I have sent it to you now.
Hello, Does this work for Canadian markets? Has the data scraping issue been resolved?
Thanks
My apologies if this gets posted twice.
Does the spreadsheet cover canadian markets? And has the issue with data scraping been resolved?
Thanks
Hi Stephan. Sorry no Canadian stocks so far. Data scraping: things looks positive. Probably releasing the spreadsheet this weekend
Hi. Thank you for the prompt reply.
Is there a manual process for retrieving the data from other sources, ie QuickFS Excel add-in, regardless of country or market? From what I can see, your spreadsheet would make my life quite a bit easier and would love to try it out.
Hi, Stephan. A bit cumbersome, but I think it’s maybe possible to copy paste the data from quickFS to feed the spreadsheet. Or even modify the spreadsheet for quickfs. Seems like they have all data that is needed for the spreadsheet.
Hi Jan, Could you provide a link to retrieve the 10yr Fed Note Discount Rate. The link in the spreadsheet brings to me to the US Treasury website, but I can’t seem to find a valid rate.
Thanks
You can find it from many sources. For example: https://www.cnbc.com/quotes/US10Y
Hello Jan, Just a quick question, How do we get a new version of the spreadsheet whenever it’s available? Do we need to buy it again?
Thanks.
Very timely question!
The Google Spreadsheet is now fixed and I will send out a mail to everyone that bought the Google Spreadsheet and signed up with the link to get updates. So if you have done that you should get the a mail from me before Monday. I will send out the mail in a few hours.
For the one who bought and did not sign up for the updates that came with the ” welcome” mail. You have to contact me directly through mail preferably with a copy of your PayPal receipt.
Hope this answers your question.
Perfect, Thanks for the prompt reply.
So to be very clear. People who already bought the Google Spreadsheet don’t need to pay more or buy again.
For the ones who bought the manual input Excel version, they can upgrade to the Google sheet version for 20$.
The Warren Buffett Google Sheet is up and running again. Sent out a new link to the sheet to everyone that has subscribed to to get the updates. Please check your spam folder if it has been filtered there. If you didn’t receive it, please contact me and I will send it manually.
Hi Jan,
I bought the Excel sheet
And google sheet upgrade a year ago.
I have the google sheet link, is there a different link each time the google sheet is updated?
And what is the latest version for the Excel sheet?
(Is there somewhere I can redownload it?)
I have filled in my name and email
In case you need to check your records to see that I am indeed a past buyer 🙂
Will send you when I am back from work tonigh
Hi Jan,
I didn’t receive any emails since you last responded.
Just in case, here is my email again:
simonparrish@hotmail.com
Sorry about that. Just sent it now
Hello Jan,
Just sent to an email for the updated link. Hope to hear from you soon!
Yes I am reading all the messages and you will get the updated link soon
Hello,
I think there is a problem with the latest version of the google spreadsheet as well. It stopped extracting data from Morningstar again. I don’t know if it’s just for time being or more like the previous version. Please take a look at that if possible.
Thank You
Yes. It’s very unfortunate. I am waiting for reply from my programmer connection that fixed the spreadsheet. Hopefully he can fix it again
Hi Jan,
May I know if your IV calculator also covers Hong Kong Stock? Thanks.
Hi,
You mean the automated Google spreadsheet? Then the answer is no
Jan
Hi there can this be used on the CSE and TSX.V? Thanks
Hi Adrian. Only the manual version, and Morningstar.com need to have the data for TSX.V stocks. I haven’t checked. At the moment the Google sheet is only for US listed stocks
I paid the 50 dollar for both excel and google sheet and i did not receive the link for both till now, please reply to me.
my email is : mf.o@outlook.com
Hi Mohamed

Hi. Can you send me an email with a copy of your receipt. Thanks. Email in “contact” on frontpage
Dear,
I have a question. I read all comments but I could find if Euronext Amsterdam is supported. The AEX and AMX for example. I have stocks here and also in US, but they are supported.
For excel version is 365 needed? Or is the data all coming from morningstar of other data source?
Thanks in advance.
Currently the Google Sheet version only work for US listed stocks.
No you don’t need 365
With the Excel version you will only need to use data from Morningstar. As long as you can find 10 years of complete financial data for the stock you should be able to analyze it.
Dear, thank you for the quick reply. But if excel uses the source of Morningstar than probably I can also fill the stock info of non-US stocks data to use it in the sheets or am I wrong? A bit more hard work but still useable I guess.
Yes that will work. As long as you can find the foreign stock with its financials on Morningstar. The spreadsheet also has a currency converter.
Dear. I bought it also for the service you already gave here… I will give it a try. Thank you. Hopefully I will see the sheet soon.
Receipt was: 78600241BJ304163A
Thanks will send you the spreadsheet when I am finished with dinner 😉
I’d like to know if you got the automated version bugs all worked out and how to eliminate problems in the future
Yes it works now, but I can’t guarantee no problems in the future. It’s will work as long as Morningstar provide the financial data in the way it does now, and have done for 10 years 😉
Hello Jan,
Is there a new version of the spreadsheets (both automated and manual), I purchased both back in February. Lately, the automated sheet doesn’t seem to be populating the financials from Morningstar. I also tried with the manual spreadsheet but it seems Morningstar has changed their data layout.
Hello Jan,
Is there currently an issue with the automated spreadsheet? For the past few days it hasn’t been retrieving financial data.
Thanks
Hi Steve
Unfortunately the spreadsheet broke just recently because Morningstar made some major changes to their site. Trying to find a solution now together with a programmer. If you subscribed to the spreadsheet updates, you will be notified when it’s fixed with a link to a working version. We have in the past always found a solution, but I can’t say how long it could take.
Sorry about this.
Hi Jan,
I was on here to make the same comment. Great work on the spreadsheet and please let us know when it is up and running again,
Nick
Hi! I am really intrested in the google version. Do you have any promising update? Thanks
Working on it now. Progressing well so far. Will update everyone that’s bought and subscribed to updates when/if I manage to make it work again
With the help of a programmer I have made the spreadsheet working again.
It is now an Excel spreadsheet using macros. As in the previous version, the data will be automatically imported after typing in the stock ticker you want to analyze.
I have sent out an email to everyone that has bought the spreadsheet and subscribed to the updates.
Please check your SPAM folder in case the email I sent out has been filtered.
Hi
Some of you had issues with the previous version of the spreadsheet (V1.0)
We have made a new version that could fix these issues (V.1.1)
This version also has support for many OTC listed stocks.
I have sent out an email to everyone that has bought the spreadsheet and subscribed to the updates.
Please check your SPAM folder in case the email I sent out has been filtered.
How do I become subscribed to updates and how long does one receive updates after purchasing? Thanks
Hi. Only people that have purchased the spreadsheet can sign up for notifications when the spreadsheet gets updated. There is no schedule for the updated. They are only sent out when necessary, and normally quite rare.
Hey Jan, I have pay for the spreadsheet. Could you please send the download link please. Thank you.
Hi. Yes. I have sent it to you now. Check your inbox and your spam folder, if it got filtered to there.
Jan,
I have looked at my spam folder and cannot find the email that you a few days ago. I am supposed to be subscribed to the updates.
Then send me an email (go to the contact webpage) and I will send to the
Hello Jan,
I seem to be having an issue with the automated spreadsheet (v1.1.xlsm) whereas the “Morningstar Valuation ‘Operating and Efficiency'” and “Morningstar Valuation ‘Financial Health'” tables are not being populated. IS there an issue or is something wrong on my side?
Thanks
Hi Steve. Please contact me on my e-mail and lets see if we can figure out the issue
Hi Jan, I might have the same issue as Steve, the morningstar valuation ( \valuation) page keeps opening multiple chrome windows without closing them and the process is getting stack on that page.. So I ending up manually closing 6-10 open chrome windows for the process to continue.. Any help is appreciated. thank you, Simeon
Hi Simeon. I have now sent out version 1.2 to all subscribers. That issue should be fixed in that version. Please also make sure you have all windows updates up to date and that you have the correct chrome driver version (same version as you chrome web browser version)
Hi Jan, Thank you very much for such a great product and always prompt responses. Simeon.
Thanks!
@ Steve. I am having the same issue, particularly can’t extract data from Morning star
You can send me an email and I will try to help you with the issue. Please provide as much information as possible. Thanks
Hello Jan, good day, this is Hector, just sent you an email, can you send me the updated files?
regards!
HG
Hi Jan,
Did we fix the issued with the morningstar page? I wanna purchase for your tool however I don’t know has it work already?
It works
I am interested in your spreadsheet. I want to confirm it is currently working.
Greg
In one of the demo videos, the yellow cells have manually input information. What is meant by Required margins of safety %, desired discount rate %, 20 AA corporate bond rate % and discount rate fed note % as well as where do we find this information? Is there a user guide to the spreadsheet?
Hi. There are no special user guide to the spreadsheet. The last 2 you mentioned has been automated so you will need to type them in. They are values used in some of the valuation models. There are explanations for them in the spreadsheet in the cell comments.
I purchased it.
Yes I got your Paypal payment in my mail Greg. Will send it Asap
I saw your video sample of the spreadsheet and there is information to input in the bottom half of the yellow box. Where do I find this information to input?
You mean required margin of safety and discount rate? That is subjective inputs. Required MOS is how much discount to estimated intrinsic value that you require. Discount rate is can also be looked at the hurdle rate on what return you want from your investments. Required MOS is typically between 25% and 50%. Less for less risky companies. Higher for more risky companies. Discount rates are typically between 8% and 15%. Depend how much is the hurdle rate on the returns you require from your investments. Remember both of these inputs are highly subjective.
Jan,
I wanted to see if the Spreadsheet is still working and updated.
Greg
Hi Greg. Yes its updated and working. It’s an automated Excel sheet using macros
It’s based on some of the Buffettology process? Does your spreadsheet use Earnings per share, Dividends per share, Book value per share, estimated Return on Equity and Projected earnings?
Yes it’s based on that principles and use many of the methods you mention.
Hi. Does it work with Brazilian Stocks? And does it work on Mac?
Sorry no. It only works for US stocks and with Windows.
Hi I wanted to check if the spreadsheet allows me to change certain formulas (eg if I want to change fog) even though there are macros
I would think so. Could you give me the formula? As long ss the spreadsheet imports the data you need you can change formulas and make new cells etc…
Hello, I’m having an issue loading data from ROIC.AI, is there an issue or newer version of the spreadsheet? I think that ROIC.AI may have updated their website…
Hi Steve. A fix to this is very soon ready. Will be sent out to all subscribers when its ready.
Hi Jan, is the Roic.ai fix ready? It still seems to just randomly stop and freeze…
Yes it has been sent out. Which version of the spreadsheet do you have?
I am using the 3.6 version
The latest version is 3.9. Have you subscribed to updates?`Send me an email and I can manually send you the latest version
